The Project Engagement Analyst is a cross-functional delivery and financial performance role within Econolite's Professional Services Group, responsible for ensuring project execution, forecasting, and revenue recognition are accurate, aligned, and transparent across all professional services engagements.

This role works in close collaboration with the Vice President of Software Sales & Professional Services, the Technical Leadership Regional Vice President responsible for professional services delivery, individual Project Managers, and the Finance team. The Project Engagement Analyst serves as a connective layer between execution and financial performance-ensuring projects are progressing as planned, forecasts are current and defensible, revenue recognition is properly supported, and leadership has clear, actionable visibility into performance against plan. This position is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and customer-outcome focused, with a mandate to support on-time project completion, predictable revenue, and sustained financial performance.

DUTIES

  • Monitor Professional
    Services project performance across active engagements, partnering with Project
    Managers to ensure schedules, scope, execution plans, and reporting are aligned
    with financial forecasts and delivery expectations.
  • Identify and
    communicate delivery, resource, or scope risks impacting revenue or margins,
    serving as a trusted analytical partner to technical and delivery leadership.
  • Maintain and validate accurate project and portfolio-level forecasts, partnering with Project Managers and Finance to track earned revenue, backlog, deferred revenue, and forecast-to-actual performance across all Professional Services revenue types.
  • Ensure revenue recognition aligns with project progress, contractual terms, and accounting standards, supporting disciplined forecasting updates, variance analysis, documentation, and month-end and quarter-end close activities.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools that provide clear visibility into project execution status, revenue recognition, forecast vs. actual performance, and margin trends.
  • Deliver accurate, timely executive reporting and insights, ensuring dashboards are aligned with leadership priorities and support informed decision-making.
  • Monitor Professional Services revenue performance against annual and quarterly plans, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities impacting revenue attainment
  • Partner with Software Sales and Professional Services leadership to support corrective actions and ensure alignment between sales expectations, delivery capacity, and revenue realization.
  • Act as a liaison between Software Sales, Professional Services, Technical Leadership, and Finance to align contracted scope, delivery plans, and financial expectations.
  • Support internal reviews of large or complex engagements and drive improvements in forecasting, reporting, and execution transparency.
  • Support the development and refinement of Professional Services performance metrics, governance processes, and best practices to improve forecasting accuracy and execution discipline.
  • Promote consistent use of project management and financial tracking tools, supporting ongoing operational improvement and organizational objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-10 years of experience in project analytics, financial analysis, professional services operations, or a related role
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to communicate complex financial and project information clearly to technical and executive audiences
  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with the ability to work across functions
  • High degree of professionalism and discretion
  • Experience in ITS, transportation technology, or software-enabled Professional Services is preferred, including familiarity with SaaS or software-adjacent revenue models.
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization is preferred, particularly supporting both sales and delivery teams and contributing to executive-level reporting and performance reviews.

BUSINESS TRAVEL & HOURS

Approximately 25% travel, or as needed, to project locations, customer sites, and company facilities

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Primarily an office-based role requiring prolonged periods of sitting and computer use. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds and travel occasionally to company sites or meetings as needed.
