Welcome to Gordon Food Service! We are excited that you are thinking about opportunities with us, and we have an amazing story to share. See below for a quick glance of who we are and the impact you could have on the food service industry. There's a seat at our table for you...

Position Summary:

The Senior IT Applications Administrator is the technical lead for the Workforce IAM team. While the Associate Administrator handles daily operations, you will focus on the strategic vision, system architecture, and complex engineering of our Identity Governance Administration (IGA) environment. You will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the primary identity governance platform, driving automation, security compliance, and process improvement across Gordon Food Service.

What you will do:

Strategic Vision & Engineering

  • IAM Roadmap Development: Partner with leadership to develop the strategic vision and roadmap for the Workforce Identity Management domain. Evaluate new features within IAM tools to drive value and security.

  • System Architecture: Lead the design and implementation of new application integrations. You will configure connectors, define attribute mappings, and write the logic that governs how identities flow between HR systems, directories, and downstream applications.

  • Continuous Improvement: "Analyze comparable systems" by staying current on IGA trends. Proactively identify inefficiencies in our current provisioning workflows (e.g., rehire logic, birthright access) and engineer permanent fixes.

Advanced Administration & Escalation

  • Level 3 Support: Serve as the final escalation point for complex technical issues that cannot be resolved by the Associate Administrator. This includes deep-dive troubleshooting of API failures, connector interruptions, and complex data synchronization errors.

  • Capacity Planning: Utilize performance metrics and identity analytics to forecast system needs. Ensure the IAM environment is scaled correctly to handle bulk system changes.

  • Security & Compliance: Audit and refine Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) policies. Work closely with Internal Audit to ensure our automated de-provisioning and access certification campaigns meet regulatory standards.

Mentorship & Documentation

  • Technical Leadership: Mentor the Associate IT Applications Administrator, providing guidance on best practices, troubleshooting logic, and system governance.

Knowledge Management: Produce high-level technical documentation for system set-up and disaster recovery. Create "Run Books" that allow Tier 1/2 support to handle routine alerts.

When you will work:

  • Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm

  • Hybrid schedule, 4 days in office with 1 day remote

What you will bring to the table:

  • Experience: 5-8 years of related experience in IT System Administration, with a strong focus on Identity and Access Management (IAM) or IT Security.

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.

Technical Skills

  • IAM Platforms: Deep operational expertise within IGA platforms. You should understand the back-end mechanics of reconciliation, provisioning, and certification.

  • Data & Scripting: Strong ability to work with SQL for data analysis and troubleshooting. Familiarity with REST/SOAP APIs, JSON, and scripting languages (e.g., Java, Python, PowerShell) used for connector customization.

  • Directory Services: Advanced knowledge of Active Directory, LDAP, and Google Workspace administration.

Professional Competencies

  • Complex Problem Solving: Ability to develop solutions for ambiguous problems where no precedent exists. You don't just fix the error; you fix the root cause.

  • Communication: Excellent ability to translate complex technical IAM concepts into clear business language for stakeholders and non-technical teams.
