EnSafe is currently seeking a full-time Staff Geologist, Environmental Engineer, or Scientist to join our team in Jacksonville, Florida. This is an excellent opportunity to join and grow EnSafe, getting involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients across the globe.

Candidates must be willing to work at the Jacksonville, FL office; relocation assistance is available to meet this expectation.

As a Staff Geologist, Environmental Engineer, or Scientist at EnSafe, there is no typical day. Under the guidance of a project geologist, project engineer, and senior staff, responsibilities may include assisting with site investigations, fieldwork, and sampling; compiling data; preparing reports; and providing support on proposal development.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
In this position, you will:

  • Assist with site assessments, including groundwater, soil, surface water, sediment, biota, drinking water, and air sample collection.
  • Perform Phase I/II environmental site assessments.
  • Compile, evaluate, and manage environmental data and databases.
  • Assist with drafting, modeling, statistical evaluation of data, and preparation of figures, tables, and other data presentations.
  • Support construction activities, including assisting with subcontractor coordination and oversight under supervision.
  • Prepare and contribute to a variety of technical documents related to assessment, design, construction, operations and maintenance (O&M), and performance evaluations (e.g., work plans, design reports, construction and O&M documents, health, and safety plans)
  • Prepare for field events, including equipment procurement and rental, calibration, maintenance, and logistics.
  • Support communication with clients, regulatory agencies, vendors, and subcontractors in coordination with project managers and senior staff.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Minimum Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in either Geology, Engineering, or Environmental Sciences.
  • 0-3 years of experience (internships count towards experience).
  • GIT or EIT Certification preferred.
  • Candidates with client and fieldwork skills are preferred.
  • Communication skills, written and verbal, are also critical to success.
  • Proficiency with mechanical and electrical equipment use, maintenance, and troubleshooting preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a background clearance.
  • Overnight travel will be required, but travel will be mostly local or within daily driving distance in the Jacksonville metro area.
