Job Scope

Work with The Molecular Diagnostics leadership on initiatives to develop and set global strategic direction for current and future portfolios, and perform market identification and analysis in support of our customer-centric product development strategy and overall corporate growth goals. Represent the needs of the Customer, Sales, and Regional Marketing, and ensure future products meet critical stakeholder needs to help drive commercial success of product portfolios. Work collaboratively with Executive Management, and with Global Product Marketing, Business Development, the Advanced Technology team, R&D, and other groups as required to develop, implement and drive adoption of strategic initiatives. Execute market research and Voice of Customer (VOC) efforts for identified new market and product opportunities.

Job Responsibilities



  • Work with Global Marketing, Product management and with Scientific Affairs to identify and assess adjacent and emerging market opportunities and build business cases to determine and prioritize value of potential new opportunities
  • Partner with R&D to define competitive and differentiative application that would leverage our technology or potential technology enhancements, as well as develop and acquire technologies required to successfully develop products to capture new market opportunities
  • Execute cross-functional market research and VOC programs to assess unmet customer needs in new markets
  • Develop a structured approach and governance for the "ideation"phase, in order to ensure continuous generation and prioritization of new ideas that create value for the organization
  • Partner with the Global Product marketing team, to ensure consistency in the idea assessment and business case preparation, and to unsure a "comprehensive" view that goes beyond portfolio to achieve more holistic solutions
  • Lead/Partner with the Global Marketing and R&D teams to develop and define market, business, and customer requirements for new markets and new products
  • Conduct regular data collection and analytics to ensure up to date understanding of the market and market dynamics, of market sizes and growth, of competition plans and performances. Analyze The financial performances of Diasorin
  • Act as the collection point of external data from several sources (financial disclosures, reports, databases, tradeshows, genomweb,...) and build a repository easy to use to ensure smooth socialization of the actionable knowledge
  • Facilitate the creation of a strategic and aspirational Long-term-plan, providing critical inputs, data and framework for the marketing function contributing to the effort
  • Build an effective set of tools to represent in actionable way the market conditions and the Diasorin performance compared to market
  • Contribute to business intelligence activities, including analyzing market trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and enable effective business threat mitigation
  • Communicate issues and status on initiatives to senior management and recommend appropriate strategies
  • Develop and update long-term portfolio strategy on a regular basis with supporting business case-based market analyses
  • As appropriate, coach, mentor and develop staff; Ensure team's Marketing processes are defined and updated to maintain best practices
  • Build long-term global sales forecasts by using a sound financial model supported by data and assumptions; Execute standardized approach to market financial models in partnership with the Global marketing team and the Finance team
  • Ensure effective communication and interfaces with executives, sales and regional marketing, PMO, scientific affairs
  • Establish a deep understanding of the competition and market dynamics for the molecular diagnostics market
  • Work with relevant members of our global teams to ensure solutions to global customer needs/challenges are incorporated into Luminex offerings, wherever appropriate
  • Serve as a positive spokesperson for the company and the business, both internally and externally



Education, Experience and Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related scientific field or Business or Marketing required.
  • Master's Degree or additional business training/certification preferred.
  • 10+ Years of Full-time, professional work experience in healthcare technology, with experience in multiple functions including Marketing, Sales, project management, strategic planning, and business development required.
  • 5+ Years experience with market analysis and voice of customer primary research required.
  • 5+ Years demonstrated track record of developing portfolio plans and corporate strategies required.
  • 5+ Years strong analytic skills and ability to tie together detailed analyses to inform executive-level strategic decisions required.
  • 5+ Years overall competency level in analyzing market data and trends and preparing appropriate related reports required.
  • 5+ Years experience in successfully launching and managing products into clinical and/or research laboratory markets required.
  • 5+ Years demonstrated effective collaboration in matrixed or highly cross-functional business settings required.
  • 2+ Years experience with and knowledge of the global healthcare regulatory and reimbursement environment required.
  • 5+ Years experience working within a quality-systems environment and development of products under design control required.
  • 5+ Years thriving in an environment of having responsibility for managing multiple, evolving priorities required.
  • 2+ Years with a blend of entrepreneurial and large company experience; Someone who has previously established and implemented effective Marketing programs for a rapidly expanding business required.
  • 2+ Years diagnostic product and research lab Marketing experience, preferably with understanding and knowledge of the US and global infectious disease diagnostic markets, with strong experience developing customer and product requirements preferred.
  • 5+ Years experience and knowledge of IVD development and commercialization process preferred.
  • Demonstrated Marketing excellence in strategic planning, portfolio planning, life cycle management, market research, segmentation and analytics, and communication planning
  • Overall competency level in analyzing market data and trends and preparing appropriate, detail-oriented reports
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for building and maintaining both internal and external relationships
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (with all levels within the organization), including diplomacy and negotiation skills
  • Self-starter, enthusiastic and strategic thinker with a bias for action
  • Self-confident with a strong work ethic
  • Executive presence mandatory
  • Goal-oriented individual with demonstrated record of achievement
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to build consensus and momentum around a shared vision
  • Ability to indirectly manage team of individuals inclusive of product management, R&D, manufacturing, partnerships, regulatory/compliance, etc.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and Word



Travel Requirements



  • 50% domestic
  • 10% international

The hiring range for this position is $143,000-$215,000 annually. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. Beyond base salary, Diasorin offers a competitive rewards package focused on your overall well-being.
