You will help design and build next-generation AI-driven applications for federal agencies, including Agentic AI tools that automate workflows, improve data quality, and enhance system performance.

In this role you will work with engineers, data scientists, and product teams to deploy modern AI solutions in secure government environments and achieve Authority to Operate (ATO).

Responsibilities

  • Design and build scalable AI-enabled software applications
  • Develop tools that automate data analysis and system performance monitoring
  • Integrate LLMs and agent-based AI capabilities into production systems
  • Collaborate with data scientists to deploy agentic AI
  • Improve engineering processes, testing, and deployment pipelines
  • Support deployment of applications within secure federal environments
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering best practices
  • Oversee RMF process to achieve ATO.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • Strong experience with Python and JavaScript.
  • Experience building modern web applications.
  • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Redux, Vue, Angular, etc.)
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Active Secret clearancerequiredat time of hire. The selected candidate must be able to obtain andmaintaina Top Secret/SCI clearance and complete a CI polygraphin accordance withcontract requirements.
  • Must be local to the DC Metro area and able to be on-site3-4days a week.
  • Familiarity with machine learning or AI-based applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with LLMs, generative AI, or AI agents
  • Experience deploying applications in cloud environments
  • Familiarity with federal security processes such as RMF / ATO
  • Experience leading engineering projects or mentoring developers
  • Experience with enterprise AI platforms (C3 AI, Databricks, etc.)

The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Groundswell, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

$89,901.00 - $175,477.00
