Operations Manager - Asphalt Maintenance - Asphalt Seal and Repair

Location: Asphalt Seal and Repair - De Pere, WI 54115
Reports To: President
Employment Type: Full-time - Salary Based on Experience $65,000 to $120,000 start, Health Insurance, 401K Match

The Operations Manager schedules and oversees all day-to-day operations of the asphalt maintenance division, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards. This role manages crews, equipment, materials, and subcontractors while coordinating with sales, clients, and leadership to drive efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.



Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Project Management

    Plan, schedule, and oversee asphalt maintenance projects including patching, sealcoating, crack filling, striping for both commercial and residential
  • Ensure subcontractor work is scheduled and all necessary information provided
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget
  • Monitor job progress, productivity, and quality control
  • Resolve field issues quickly and effectively

Team Leadership

  • Manage, train, and supervise field supervisors, foremen, and crews
  • Enforce company policies, safety procedures, and performance standards
  • Conduct performance reviews and support employee development
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and teamwork

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and local safety regulations
  • Conduct job-site inspections regularly
  • Implement new safety procedures as developed

Equipment & Materials Management

  • Oversee maintenance and utilization of trucks, equipment, and tools
  • Coordinate material procurement (asphalt, sealers, sand, etc.)
  • Manage inventory and control operational costs

Client & Internal Coordination

  • Serve as point of contact for clients during project execution
  • Coordinate with sales team on project handoffs
  • Address client concerns and ensure high customer satisfaction

Budgeting & Reporting

  • Track labor, equipment, and material costs
  • Review job cost reports and implement improvements
  • Provide regular operational reports to management

Qualifications

Required

  • Experience in asphalt maintenance, paving, or related construction operations
  • 2+ years in a supervisory or management role
  • Strong knowledge of construction and maintenance methods and materials
  • Proven ability to manage crews and multiple projects simultaneously
  • Valid driver's license
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred

  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification
  • Experience with job costing and construction management software
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
