General Description of the Job Class The Pharmacy Coordinator, within the Department of Pharmacy, is a key leadership position for a pharmacist, with responsibilities for being a team lead, coordinating a program/practice group, or being a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a specific area. This clinical pharmacist coordinator will work with the pharmacy operations manager for the Duke Specialty Pharmacy to oversee operations of the Specialty Operations space located in Duke South. This consists of the mail room and call center operations. This includes managing all carriers and couriers and ensuring mailouts are sent out the door on time. They also will manage all packing and shipping supplies and freight orders, as well as managing all shipping support (shipping issues/patient escalations). They will create the call center and mail room schedule and ensure proper training and onboarding for call center and mail room staff. They will monitor call center metrics alongside the manager of operations and director of specialty pharmacy programs to ensure pharmacy accreditation and payer compliance. They will assist manager and director in quality control of cold chain temperature requirements and pack outs and potentially lead QC meetings if approved. They would also be consulted for day-to-day HR resolution and continued support for the whole operation that reports up to the Pharmacy Operations Manager. They would also keep track of all online training (Elevate, Dossier, LMS) and all certificates and licenses as required. All call center and mail room staff would directly report to this coordinator.
