| Essential Job Duties |
As the Assistant HR Director, you are the steward of HR excellence for a division serving 1500 employees. As the second-in-command, you will hold the keys to the daily HR engine of Campus Enterprises, transforming complex university policies into seamless, people-first solutions. This is a high-visibility role designed for a leader who is ready to own the operational strategy and mentor a talented team of generalists toward excellence.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Talent Strategy: Lead a comprehensive Talent Acquisition strategy for a multifaceted workforce, ensuring we attract top-tier student and permanent talent in a competitive market. Operational Mastery: Serve as the Division's HR subject matter expert, providing guidance on complex cases ranging from classification and compensation to leave administration. You will oversee HRIS, payroll, and compliance with high-level independence and discretion. Consultative Excellence: Provide high-touch, expert-level counsel to supervisors and employees, ensuring that university policies and division procedures are not just being followed, but understood and integrated into the culture. Strategic Liaison: Partner with the HR Director to co-author the department's strategic plan and pioneer innovative training programs and automated solutions that elevate our organizational culture. You will navigate university-wide partnerships to align division goals with campus policy.

| Other Responsibilities |
- Model the Division's mission and values, introduce the Division's mission and values to employees, and foster a positive, cohesive workplace and congeniality among co-workers.
- Understand the goals and culture of the organization, and understand how employees' work activities, teamwork, and customer service impact clients. Work with your supervisor and colleagues to understand these goals and the culture.
- Adhere to all University policies, procedures, and regulations, and division standard operating practices and protocols.
- In the HR director's absence, represent the division at various university committee meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure Human Resources business needs are met.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
Bachelor's degree and two years of progressively responsible professional human resources management experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be from appropriately accredited institutions.

| Other Required Qualifications |
- Demonstrated ability to build professional relationships and be a member of a productive team.
- Excellent communication, organizational and customer service skills.
- Handle confidential matters accurately and discretely.
- Supervision experience, including ability to professionally mentor and coach HR and operational staff.
- Proficiency with HRIS and applicant tracking systems, and standard business software (MS Office/Google Suite). Be able to learn new software programs.

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree in related field of study
- Progressive HR experience of increasing responsibility
- Strong preference for experience in a high-volume, complex, 7-days per week service environment
- Demonstrated expertise in core HR functions, including compliance (FLSA, EEO, FLMA), recruitment and talent acquisition, classification and compensation, leave administration, and workers' compensation
- Ability to gather and compile data, analyze it and look for trends
- Prior experience using Microsoft Visio and OnBase
- Prefer candidate have experience working within the UNC System
