Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Administrative Coordinator for the department of Anesthesiology at the New Jersey Medical School.

Performs a wide variety of administrative and support services within the Department of Anesthesiology/Pain Management. Assist in the planning and support of program activities and coordination of office operations.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Plans and schedules the work of the department's secretarial/administrative section to make maximum effective utilization of employees, equipment and materials within budgetary requirements.
  • Responsible for personnel matters for the department/division; maintains time and attendance records, ensures timely completion of forms for Human Resources, Payroll, etc.
  • Serves as principal liaision with various administrative departments and units for the University. Responsible for timely follow-up of problems and questions, and maintains a log and documentation of same.
  • Oversees the maintenance of department records and ensures that files and recordkeeping systems meet the needs of the department.
  • Composes correspondence, creates and maintains databases and spreadsheets as required.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree plus two (2) years of administrative experience in a government agency, university setting or large business office with responsibility for office management, preparation of reports, supervision of staff, etc.
  • Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.
