As an Inside Sales Representative, you will play a critical role in driving consumables revenue across a defined territory in the US and Canada East. You will professionally represent Biotage's Small Molecule and Synthetic Therapeutics (SMST) portfolio, building strong customer relationships while identifying, developing, and closing sales opportunities.
Working closely with Account Managers, Sales & Marketing leadership, and Field Service, you will be part of a proactive account team focused on expanding Biotage's presence and impact within the territory. This role combines customer engagement, sales execution, and structured prospecting in a fast-paced, science-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets within the assigned territory and product scope
- Proactively engage existing and prospective customers to promote and grow SMST consumables revenue, including organic and peptide products
- Conduct extensive prospecting, lead generation, and timely follow-up on inbound and outbound leads
- Fully utilize Salesforce.com to manage accounts, opportunities, activities, and forecasts with high data accuracy. Maintain up-to-date customer records, including account status, contacts, and purchasing history
- Support customers with product demonstrations (virtual or live), literature, samples, and quotations
- Provide consumable demos, quotes, and related administrative sales support
- Develop and maintain strong product knowledge, including SMST consumables such as Sfar columns, microwave vials, workup products, Peptiren, Peptipec, and related solutions
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, service, and technical teams to identify and advance new business opportunities
- Deliver accurate and timely sales forecasts
- Support additional projects or responsibilities as assigned by management
What You Bring:
- Ability to quickly understand SMST product features, value propositions, and customer applications
- Confidence in demonstrating products and articulating competitive advantages
- Excellent communication skills across phone, virtual, email, and face-to-face interactions
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple activities and projects
- Proficiency with Salesforce.com, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to build strong working relationships across internal teams and customer groups
- Capability to rapidly develop expertise in instrumentation, consumables, applications, and customer environments
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Biochemistry or related science degree preferred
- Experience and/or training in a field or inside sales position is preferred but not required
- Experience with either organic or peptide synthesis is preferred by not required.
