About The Role

Western Security Bank is hiring an experienced Commerical Lender with a minimum of 6 years Commerical/Credit experience. Commercial Lenders supports the Commercial Loan Department by building relationships and obtaining and/or maintaining commercial loans. Will be responsible for taking commercial loan applications, interviewing loan clients, analyzing financials, determining appropriate loan pricing, loan structure and making appropriate commercial lending decisions (within assigned lending limit) and/or presenting loan recommendations to the WSB Loan Committee. The Commercial Lender is responsible for contributing to overall growth and profitability. Commercial Lenders will work independently as well as in cross functional teams with various levels of knowledge. These cross functional teams assist internal support staff to accomplish position/department/customer goals within regulatory/policy guidelines.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Create and/or maintain a targeted portfolio size up to $20M.
* Meet or exceed loan production goals.
* This professional and administrative position is responsible for approving or denying credit to commercial customers.
* Through business develop measures will identify and develop profitable relationships with new and existing customers.
* Will obtain loan application, interview customer, collect and analyze financial to determine credit worthiness, appropriate pricing, loan structure while focusing on prompt and fair service regardless of approval or denial.
* Will be required to ensure accuracy on loan documentation. Will ensure loan documentation is complete and accurate prior to loan closing and are in compliance with state and federal regulations, bank policy and compliance regulations.
* Will monitor loan delinquency and proactively identify credit problems. Take preemptive measures by managing loan accounts for current documentation, performance, and total bank relationship. Respond promptly to exception and compliance error reporting to prevent or minimize potential losses.
* Will be required to keep current on loan programs and lending (federal and state) regulations as well as all compliance and bank policies and procedures. Participate in the preparation and presentation of commercial training sessions.
* Will be responsible for proper and timely disclosure requirements and ensure that appropriate disclosures are completed within Federal Time Limitations.
* Identify and develop profitable relationships with potential new customers by participating in civic and community activities.
* Maintain an ongoing relationship with existing customer base. Be proactive in identifying potential business opportunities outside the Commercial Department and refer to appropriate department or officer.
* Maintains a working knowledge of all bank products and services.
* Maintains an aggressive customer call schedule.
* Participates in Community Service and Bank-sponsored activities that serve and support the mission and values of Western Security Bank.
* Provides superior internal and external customer service. Must demonstrate self-governance, courtesy and respect toward external customers as well as internal customers.
* Represents Western Security Bank in a professional manner which includes a professional image, confidentiality, a positive attitude, flexibility and adaptability in meeting Bank and customer needs.

Keep work area tidy and maintain customer privacy. Attends and participates in meetings as required.
* Additional duties as requested or assigned.


About You

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School degree or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or any related degree from a four-year college or university preferred.

Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: to 20 pounds amount of force frequently and/or 10 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Starting salary is dependent upon relevant experience and may vary based on the geographic location of the position.
