Summary of Position

The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for supporting the financial operations and accuracy of reporting of the manufacturing facilities. The Senior Cost Accountant is a key business partner to Operations and Finance departments leadership, ensuring financial integrity, operational efficiency, and compliance with company policies. The Senior Cost Accountant reports to the Plant Controller.



Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm

Essential Functions

  • Must maintain operational compliance with US and international regulatory agencies and guidelines (i.e. FDA, DEA, EU, HC, TGA, PIC/S, ISO, USP, NRC, cGMP, etc.).
    Review and validate inventory transactions to ensure accuracy, proper documentation, and compliance with internal controls.
  • Analyze and reconcile inventory accounts, including raw materials, WIP and finished goods.
  • Develop costing models to support new product introductions, process changes, and operational improvements.
  • Manage all aspects of the Fixed Asset function, including tracking additions/disposals, preparing monthly depreciation entries, and overseeing the asset approval workflow.
  • Prepare month-end account reconciliations and contribute to KPI development and reporting.
  • Assist the Plant Controller in enhancing policies, procedures, and internal controls related to the procure-to-pay and inventory cycles.
  • Provide cost analysis and insights that support production planning, margin optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in the annual cost roll process and update standard costs on an as-needed basis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master's degree preferred.
  • CPA or CMA highly desired.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP with IFRS knowledge a plus.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or related roles.
  • Minimum 2+ years of working in a standard cost system.
  • Independent, inquisitive and a self-starter.
  • Demonstrated capacity to handle a diverse number of projects simultaneously.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with a multi-cultural and cross-functional team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Excel); experience with Infor XA is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of business intelligence tools preferred.



Working Conditions:



  • This position will work in typical office conditions with extensive time using computer equipment.
  • Must possess good hand-eye coordination; close attention to detail required.
  • Willingness to work in a team-based environment.
  • Willingness to travel to and work in manufacturing facilities.
  • May be required to sit or stand for long periods of 8+ hours a day while performing duties.
  • Willingness to complete safety training within allotted timeframes.
  • The position deals with many deadlines. Due to the short turnaround time of deadlines and limited time, overtime is sometimes required.
