What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a Quality Control & Commissioning Project Manager to support the construction and commissioning projects SEMI Factory, Giga-Factory and other offsite locations in Nevada. In this role, you will develop test procedures, provide support and coaching of construction and trades teams, and provide alignment on quality needs. and operations, ensuring the smooth transition of projects from construction to commissioning and end goal of operations. You will also be part of commissioning and support commissioning activities when required. Focus will be on piping systems, mechanical rotating systems not limited to compressors, dryers, pumps, HVAC, Filters and cooling towers.
What You'll Do
- Assist with development of the site-specific QA/QC/CX program while driving a quality culture that embraces both "right first time" and continuous learning approach that improves project efficiency and quality
- Establish and maintain working relationships with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, commissioning agents and vendors to ensure that the site-specific QC/CX Program is followed for all projects
- Executes specific inspections on materials, equipment and construction/installation deliveries and activities on site
- Confirm that scopes of work installation conform to approved Design drawings, specifications, and method
- Witness & perform construction complete inspection checks & writes QC reports verifying proper install by design & code standards
- Obtain relevant documentation and ensure the correct implementation of the Inspection Test Plans for all things related to mechanical, plumbing & fire protection
- Assist and coordinate final handover documentation (QC/CX documents, test reports, inspection reports, etc.) including completion of construction punch lists
What You'll Bring
- Journey Person Welder and Pipefitter with strong background in Mechanical trades (Millwright or Mechanical Engineering preferred) or a minimum equivalent of 5 years of rotating equipment experience with industrial equipment, installation, distribution and CWI or other inspection-related certificates
- Knowledge of the construction quality process means and methods, and materials, their characteristics, installation procedures and tolerances with a willingness to train and obtain specific QA/QC inspection qualifications
- Experience in the construction quality & commissioning management of mission critical facilities
- Exposure to projects with project management experience
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with attention to detail and the ability to multitask and adapt to change
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, hands-on, working environment
