Responsibilities

People Management Accountabilities:

  • Directs, supervises, and participates in the selection and evaluation of all candidates for employment, utilizing company hiring policies, procedures and practices in accordance with the plan set forth by the GM.
  • Ensures all new hires are onboarded successfully and trained on company systems per their job requirements.
  • Leads, motivates, and inspires a team capable of executing plans and strategies.
  • Provides a clear sense of priority and focus to manage team performance with a wide range of daily responsibilities.
  • Diagnoses and identifies appropriate actions to constantly improve team performance.
  • Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate improved working relationships.
  • Holds employees accountable to Ferrellgas' high company standards.
  • Maintains professional working relationships with direct reports, colleagues, corporate employees, and superiors.
  • Provides analysis and works with the GM of optimal operational headcount to meet dynamic business demands.
  • Identifies and provides mentorship for future leaders within the organization. Provides a clear path for career development and advancement.

Communication Accountabilities:

  • Maintains open communication between General Manager as well as Regional Manager in times of coverage for the GM.
  • Provides leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development.
  • Coordinates with Customer Service team to ensure a high level of service is maintained.
  • Anticipates the needs of Ferrellgas partners and is responsive to those needs.
  • Effectively communicates company goals and directives to the service center team while cultivating and maintaining high employee morale.

Safety Accountabilities:

  • Ensures compliance with local, state & federal regulations governing the storage, sale, and delivery of propane.
  • Obtains and maintains local and state licensing requirements.
  • Maintains a safe working environment by ensuring that all equipment is in good working condition. Completes needed repairs in a timely manner.
  • Provides for and ensures completion of CETP and other required safety training and certifications.
  • Facilitates regularly scheduled safety meetings.
  • Maintains a drug free workplace by adhering to company drug testing policies and reasonable suspicion procedures.

Inventory Accountabilities:

  • Maintains up to date, accurate Yard Tank and Cylinder inventory.
  • Ensures that adequate non-gas inventory is on hand to operate the business. Confirms that purchases are coded properly per accounting standards and reconciled annually.
  • Records thorough month-end propane inventory.
  • Reconciles Asset Inventory per company policy and confirms proper accounting of transferred and disposed assets.

Process Planning & Improvement Accountabilities:

  • Utilizes technology to decrease expense cents per gallon.
  • With the help of the management team, develops and executes delivery and service routes that address customer needs in a cost-effective manner.
  • Anticipates future needs/opportunities and integrates them into the annual business plan.
  • Using evidence-based management principles, coaches and provides instruction for consistent improvement in key performance metrics.

Measurement Accountabilities:

  • Accountable for execution against key performance indicators (KPIs), standards and systems to measure performance, such as:
    • Productivity Metrics, Fleet Utilization, Asset Utilization, and Labor Management.
  • Understands, analyzes, and utilizes P&L statements and other business reports.
  • Develops plan and manages operations to achieve budgeted DCF goals.
  • Analyzes and approves Authority for Expenditure (AFE) requests to ensure that company ROA goals are met. Analyzes existing AFE performance for adherence to original goals.
  • Maintains brand image and good working operation of customer installations and company facilities.

Sales Management Accountabilities:

  • Interfaces with key high impact accounts within service center.
  • Develops working relationships with key customers at the local level.
  • Maintains a high profile with trade organizations, civic groups, and government bodies to improve the local business climate and relations with the community.
  • Recommends strategies for improvement based on market research and competitor analysis.
  • Works alongside Account Managers and Sales Team to ensure that new and existing accounts are serviced per contract.
  • Reacts to market opportunities and plans for internal organic growth.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field in lieu of a degree
  • 4+ years management experience in operations management.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience with Peoplesoft and Salesforce is preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on developing a positive rapport with company employees at all levels and outside constituents.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to take projects/tasks through to completion.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills with the ability to effectively multi-task.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills in a customer-focused environment.
  • Demonstrated persistence to overcome obstacles and challenges with the ability to set and achieve challenging goals.
  • Demonstrated skills in data analysis, strategic planning, measurements, and fiscal responsibility.
  • Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States
