DEPARTMENT: Infection Control and Prevention Join our team that is data-driven, evidence-based, and high-performing, with a strong focus on achieving results. We also encourage innovative solutions to problems and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the hospital GENERAL SUMMARY: The Infection prevention of epidemiology assists with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Infection Prevention program. Conducts infection surveillance for areas outlined in the annual Infection Surveillance Plan approved by the Hospital Infection Control and Prevention Committee, under the direction of the Infection Control and Prevention Program Director, Sibley Memorial Hospital. Provides Infection Prevention support for the main hospital, Renaissance Skilled Nursing Facility and ambulatory locations that are part of Sibley Memorial Hospital. Assists in regulatory compliance activities. Monitors and evaluates hospital Infection Prevention policies, procedures and practices to ensure all evidence-based infection prevention practices are implemented to assure optimum protection for all patients, visitors, and staff. Identifies and manages outbreaks and exposures in the hospital. Develops and provides education and leads and coordinates quality improvement initiatives. Collects infection data for participation in Hospital sponsored programs and collaborative projects and enters data in NHSN and other databases. Utilizes knowledge of epidemiology, infectious diseases, modes of disease transmission, principles of infection control and prevention, performance improvement, and adult learning methods. Salary Range: Minimum 34.48/hour - Maximum 56.86/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
