Job Overview

Komatsu West, a leading provider of heavy equipment and industrial solutions, is currently seeking a dedicated Warehouse Supervisor for its Elko, Nevada, branch. This pivotal role entails overseeing daily warehouse operations and leading a committed team of 8 Warehouse Technicians and 1 Truck Driver. As Warehouse Supervisor, you will ensure the accuracy of inventory, manage seamless shipping and receiving logistics, and optimize the organization of storage spaces, including racking systems and yard layouts. Your role is integral to maintaining operational efficiency by managing consumable supplies, handling non-conforming parts and returns promptly, and generating detailed operational reports on a weekly and monthly basis.


Collaborating closely with various departments, such as Customer Service Representatives (CSRs), the Rebuild Shop, Field Service teams, and Account Managers, you will play a crucial role in supporting smooth parts flow and exceptional customer satisfaction across Komatsu's operations. Key Job Responsibilities

  • Provide strong leadership and supervision to the warehouse team consisting of 8 technicians and 1 driver, including daily task delegation, scheduling shifts, setting clear performance expectations, and fostering professional development.
  • Manage comprehensive inventory control processes such as maintaining accurate bin locations, performing regular cycle counts, and overseeing adjustments through write-ons and write-offs, ensuring high data integrity within the warehouse management system.
  • Oversee all shipping and receiving activities for inbound and outbound parts, coordinating logistics to optimize turnaround times, reduce errors, and support operational demands at the Elko facility.
  • Handle non-conforming parts and customer returns effectively, ensuring that Quality 3 (Q3) returns are processed promptly, credits are issued without delay, and shelves are restocked for availability.
  • Maintain and improve warehouse infrastructure, ensuring the structural integrity of racking systems, tidy and safe yard and main warehouse layouts, and supervising maintenance of essential equipment including forklifts and sweepers, to support operational efficiency and workplace safety.
  • Manage consumable supplies and operational materials for smooth shipping/receiving functions and other warehouse needs; actively monitor supply costs and collaborate with management on budget planning to maximize resources.
  • Prepare and deliver insightful weekly and monthly reports detailing team performance, inventory metrics, and logistical outcomes to proactively identify and resolve operational issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Champion a culture of safety and regulatory compliance, ensuring adherence to all relevant workplace safety standards, and collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders across departments and Komatsu locations to foster a cohesive and high-performing work environment.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years' experience in warehouse or inventory operations is required, with demonstrated competence in leading teams and managing daily warehouse activities. Prior supervisory or leadership experience is strongly preferred.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in warehouse management and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as SAP and CDK is essential. Skilled use of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) for reporting and data analysis will support daily decision-makingand communication.
  • Core Competencies: Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and cross-department partners, solid problem-solving abilities to address operational challenges, and excellent time management skills to prioritize work and meet tight deadlines.
  • Educational Background: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification or education in warehouse management, logistics, or supply chain is advantageous and will be considered a plus.
  • Physical Requirements: Candidates must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, standing and walking for extended periods, reaching and bending as part of warehouse activities. Occasional work outdoors in varying weather conditions is expected.
