Position Description

The Quality Supervisor is responsible for plant product quality and customer satisfaction. You will have the authority for: Ensuring that a process-focused quality system requirements are established, implemented, and maintained in accordance with corporate and customer quality requirements. Driving the principles of a performance-based organization. Analyzing quality performance to set plant goals and development plans. Supervisory responsibility for Quality Auditors and technicians. You will report to the Quality Manager.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop, implement and manage a plant quality system that meets or exceeds corporate and customer quality requirements. Lead the improvement of the Quality Management System to foster a culture of customer focus and continuous improvement.

* Manage and continuously improve the process and product auditing system.

* Initiate and participate in quality planning for the products and processes at the plant.

* Supervise and direct department employees so that work is accurate, timely and in accordance with company policies and procedures; monitor and evaluate subordinate

performance and make recommendations as needed to benefit the employee or organization.

* Audit the plant quality systems and procedures to assess adequacy, degree of use, and effectiveness while identifying areas for improvement, and initiating improvement plans and actions.

* Coordinate the business unit wide corrective action and problem resolution of internal/external customer complaints, field failures, and product returns to insure prompt and effective responses.

* Actively participate and lead continuous improvement activities.

* Provide and track training for plant testing personnel.

* Work with production and manufacturing engineering employees to have effective standardization of systems for quality assurance and quality control.

* Perform as the resident expert in problem solving tools, process management, measurement techniques and statistical analysis.

* Establish, monitor, analyze, and report on the major quality indicators of the plant.

* Manage the plant use of metrology equipment, provide a calibration function, and evaluate adequacy of use [MRR (measurement, repeatability, reproducibility) studies].

* Active participant in improvement of plant safety culture.

Required Education & Qualifications

* BS degree in engineering or related field from an accredited institution or a combination of education, training & 8 years' experience in a quality, engineering or manufacturing.* The Quality Supervisor must have an understanding of the use and application of TQM principles, statistical methods, problem solving methods, modern metrology methods, and interpersonal problem-solving skills. Practical experience in quality systems and auditing, and an understanding of ISO 9001, and other worldwide quality management systems. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate ideas, concepts, and values into business language is essential.
