Job Description:

AriensCo is on the hunt for a self-starting, motivated Conservation Intern for the summer of 2026 at our Brillion, WI location! This is the perfect opportunity to enhance your education with practical, hands-on experience and prepare you for your future.

THE DAY TO DAY...

  • Be trained in techniques and assist in projects related to the management and restoration of natural plant and animal communities

  • Assist in projects involving citizen science initiatives & data entry, tree and shrub removal, seed collection, planting materials, etc.

  • Perform ecological management and grounds maintenance on Conservation property including, mowing; removing brush; picking litter; maintaining trails; and operating motor-driven equipment

  • Identify situations requiring repair, maintenance, or other corrective actions

  • Perform related work as required

THE QUALIFICATIONS...

  • One (1) year of experience in the care and maintenance of natural area(s) and related facilities similar to a conservation property OR Completion of a two (2) year natural resources program may be substituted for the experience requirement

  • Knowledge relative to native plant communities and associated wildlife preferred

  • Heavy manual labor and outdoor walking on trails requiring physical strength and endurance required

  • Valid driver's license required

  • Must be able to perform heavy manual labor and must have the ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs

  • Expected to work a high percentage of the time outdoors in all types of weather conditions at various times of day
