Application Window Open date: January 28, 2026 Next review date: Friday, Feb 27, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Wednesday, Jul 28, 2027 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description Clinical Cytogeneticist Position Description: Responsibilities include providing on-site clinical oversight of a comprehensive cytogenetics laboratory, which performs chromosome analysis, fluorescence in situ hybridization, chromosomal microarray, optical genomic mapping, and next-generation sequencing for neoplastic and constitutional (prenatal and postnatal) specimens; signing out clinical cytogenetic cases on a daily basis; and serving as a consultant to physicians for all matters related to Cytogenetics test selection and result interpretation. Continuous development and implementation of new cytogenetic assays and technology platforms will be key components of this position. The successful candidate is expected to participate actively in genetics and pathology resident and fellow education. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to academic medicine, education, and collaborative clinical care, and will be expected to contribute to departmental and institutional service and leadership initiatives. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $154,700-$405,900. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
