Job Summary The Senior Enterprise Applications Administrator is responsible for administering, supporting, and enhancing enterprise business applications that support organizational operations and decision-making. Working independently on assigned responsibilities, this role ensures enterprise applications are stable, secure, and operating efficiently in alignment with business needs and IT standards. As part of the Information Technology and Information Systems function, this position supports the assessment, configuration, implementation, and ongoing improvement of applications and systems used to manage and transform data into meaningful information. The Sr Enterprise Applications Administrator collaborates with business users, IT peers, and external vendors to resolve issues, implement enhancements, and support application lifecycle activities.
Duties/Responsibilities
Enterprise Application Administration
Administer, configure, maintain, and support enterprise applications such as ERP, CRM, financial, materials management, reporting, or related systems.
Perform routine system maintenance, upgrades, patches, and configuration changes in accordance with established procedures.
Monitor application performance and availability, identifying and resolving issues to ensure reliable system operation.
Systems Support, Analysis & Optimization
Troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex application issues, performing root-cause analysis and escalating when appropriate.
Assist in analyzing application performance and usage to recommend improvements that enhance efficiency and usability.
Maintain technical documentation, configuration records, and standard operating procedures.
Information Systems & Data Support
Support the implementation and enhancement of systems and tools that transform data into usable information for business users.
Assist with application integrations and data flows between enterprise systems, helping ensure data accuracy and reliability.
Partner with business stakeholders to understand functional needs and translate them into application configurations or enhancements.
Security, Compliance & Controls
Apply and maintain application security controls, access permissions, and role-based security in accordance with company policies.
Support compliance activities, audits, and security assessments related to enterprise applications.
Follow data protection and security best practices in daily system administration activities.
Project Support & Implementation
Participate in application deployment, upgrade, and enhancement projects as a contributing team member.
Coordinate assigned tasks with vendors, consultants, and internal IT teams under the guidance of senior staff or project leads.
Support testing, validation, and documentation activities during system changes.
User Support & Collaboration
Provide advanced application support for escalated user issues beyond basic help desk support.
Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and data teams to resolve cross-functional system issues.
Participate in on-call or after-hours support rotations as required.
Knowledge Sharing & Continuous Improvement
Share technical knowledge and best practices with peers and less-experienced team members.
Stay current on enterprise application technologies, tools, and industry trends.
Identify opportunities for incremental improvements to systems, documentation, and support processes.
Experience and Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
5 years of experience supporting or administering enterprise business applications.
Knowledge and Skillsets Required
Experience administering enterprise applications such as ERP, CRM, financial, materials management, or reporting systems.
Working knowledge of information systems concepts, databases, operating systems, and networking fundamentals.
Familiarity with cloud-based application environments and SaaS platforms.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage assigned work independently while following established priorities and standards.
Effective communication skills with technical teams and business users.
Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
