Structured Cabling Technician - Entry Level Location: New Albany, OH Schedule: Monday-Friday, 1st and 2nd Shift Overtime: OT and occasional Saturdays may be required Experience Level: Entry Level Job Description We are seeking an EntryLevel Structured Cabling Technician to support cabling and lowvoltage installation projects in a professional construction environment. This role is ideal for individuals interested in starting a career in structured cabling, telecommunications, or data center operations. The technician will work under the guidance of lead technicians while developing handson skills and technical knowledge. Key Responsibilities * Pull, dress, and label Cat5e and Cat6 cabling in accordance with TIA/EIA standards * Assist with RJ45 connector and patch panel terminations under supervision * Perform cable labeling and identification to support accurate documentation * Learn and perform basic punchdown terminations for telecommunications blocks * Support cable testing using basic testing tools (Fluke, EXFO) with guidance * Gain exposure to fiberoptic cable handling, dressing, and basic installation practices * Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment * Take direction from lead technicians, leads, and supervisors to complete daily tasks Required Skills * Basic understanding of cable installation and lowvoltage systems * Willingness to learn termination and punchdown techniques * Ability to work in construction environments * Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions * Reliable, punctual, and teamoriented Top Skills * Cable installation * Lowvoltage systems * Cat5 / Cat6 cabling * Termination * Installation Additional Skills & Qualifications * Prior construction or handson work experience preferred * Familiarity with structured cabling concepts is a plus * Must pass drug test and BGC * Ability to stand, climb ladders, and perform physically demanding work * Positive attitude and strong work ethic Why This Role * Entrylevel opportunity with handson training * Exposure to structured cabling and data center environments * Opportunity to grow technical skills under experienced technicians * Ideal starting point for a longterm career in telecommunications Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Albany, OH.
