Overview

Contributes to the growth and success of the therapy services department through staff and program development. Ensures that quality patient care is provided and efficiency is maximized. Within the scope of responsibility, plans, leads, controls, and organizes in order to achieve departmental objectives. The supervisor maintains a clinical load and sets examples for patient care, communication, and documentation standards.

Licenses/Certifications

Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)

Or

Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)

And

Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)

Attend and satisfactorily complete all required continuing education regarding the care of acute stroke patients.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

Acts as primary liaison and oversees the operation of a specific area location of the therapy services department ensure timely and effective therapy.

Assists the director/manager in selecting appropriate personnel to work within the specific area, and ensures adequate staffing levels appropriate for customer demand.

Conducts performance appraisals according to corporate policy.

Demonstrates respect by treating our patients and each other with dignity and respect, being empathetic and caring, and staying fully engaged with those who need our services.

Designs an appropriate plan of care that integrates goals, treatment, outcomes, and discharge plan. Adjusts the care based on patient response and available evidence.

Educates patients, family, caregivers, students, and other health care providers using relevant and effective teaching methods.

Evaluates clinical findings to determine physical therapy diagnoses and outcomes of care and ensures timely and thorough documentation.

Markets services to medical facilities, schools, physicians and the general community.

Monitors productivity for area.

Performs examination, selecting reliable and valid examination methods relevant to the chief complaint, results of screening, and history.

Produces documentation in accordance with the Clinical Process Policy (CTSCP67).

Provides input on budget matters for their specific area.

Trains, develops, and empowers a competent and motivated professional staff.

Uses support personnel according to legal standards and ethical guidelines. Monitors the care delivered by support personnel and provides regular feedback.

If applicable, completes annual education as assigned to comply with DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Program requirements.

Monitors daily operations (schedules ,productivity, billing and patient care)

Resource and problem solver with patient and staff issues

Educates patients and caregivers on home programs and activities

Completes daily documentation and charging in therapy EMR

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $46.63per hour - $80.2per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
