We Require

  • Two years of clerical accounting, bookkeeping, or specialized administrative experience

  • High school or General Educational Development (GED)

  • A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis

Other Requirements

  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire

We Also Value

  • Two or more years of clerical accounting, bookkeeping, or specialized administrative experience in healthcare or government

  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite is preferred

  • Moderate to advanced experience with CGI/Advantage Financial Software Suite

  • Experience with accounts payable

Job Contributions

  • Processes payments on vendor invoices, reconciles accounts and maintains the accounting and financial records following department and County policies

  • Researches accounting issues and assists in providing information for audits

  • Post's information and balances the general ledgers and accounts

  • Performs approvals of financial documents, including journal vouchers, invoices, and purchase order

  • Provides informational and transactional support services to external and internal customers

Working Conditions

Works regularly in a standard office environment, requiring the ability to sit and perform duties on a computer for long periods of time. At times, you may be required to work inside a jail or travel to work locations within a 5-mile radius. This position requires accurately handling a high volume of work and adapting to frequent changes, interruptions, and unscheduled tasks. Must be able to pass a fingerprint background check and maintain MCSO jail access.
