Overview: Working under general supervision of the Team Leader, Depot, relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, the Senior Technician is responsible for upgrading, configuring, testing, troubleshooting and repairing computer equipment with an emphasis on a specific area of expertise. The Senior Technician is responsible for all aspects of improving team technical skills and performance. This position will provide training for their specific area of expertise to other technicians. This position will serve as the principle technical advisor for a specific area of expertise. This position will conduct briefings and participate in technical and managerial meetings concerning both general operations and specific issues. Uses their advanced knowledge to help prepare other technicians to gain new knowledge so that they may perform their duties more efficiently. Helps to prepare technicians to achieve industry certifications. Ability to follow instructions. Must meet all vendor training and certification requirements within their specific area of expertise. Articulate with ability to express oneself clearly and professionally in written and oral communication. Ability to work independently is a very important part of this job. Detail oriented with item-by-item focus, meticulous attention to detail with ability to proofread for accuracy. CompTIA A+ certification; Advanced Industry certifications are preferred.
