The college is governed by the University of Arkansas System Board of Trustees and a seven-member Board of Visitors and derives its support largely from student tuition and fees and legislative appropriations. Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties:The University of Arkansas-Pulaski Technical College in North Little Rock, Arkansas is accepting applications for a Didactic Adjunct Faculty - Nursing. This position may require remote and/or face-to-face instruction. University of Arkansas-Pulaski Technical College provides access to high-quality education that promotes student learning and enables individuals to develop to their fullest potential. This position requires a commitment to teaching in a dynamic community college setting and the ability to successfully interact and respond to the broad ranging needs of an academically and culturally diverse campus setting.General Responsibilities: *Faculty perform instruction-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies and procedures of the college. The relationship of the faculty member to the student is one of teacher and facilitator of learning. The successful hire will teach nursing courses as assigned. Other responsibilities of this position include: *Actively and consistently participating in orientations, professional development workshops, all mandatory or required training, events, and meetings. *Establishing and maintaining positive, collaborative working relationships with students, colleagues and staff. *Demonstrating a willingness to use contemporary educational techniques and technology. *Maintaining skills or knowledge required for the discipline. *Utilizing syllabus, timeline of class curriculum and other information to present information in a timely manner for the success of students. *Arranging for the acquisition and preparation of appropriate materials and equipment in a timely manner necessary to meet course objectives. *Providing prompt and accurate records of assessments and final grade reports. *Demonstrating consistent professionalism with students and commitment to working cooperatively with campus personnel to fulfill the Mission of the College. *Collaborate with Director of Nursing Programs to review and select the textbooks and/or other materials needed for each course taught. *Actively communicating, maintaining, and collaborating with the Advisory Committee for the discipline. Faculty are expected to incorporate Advisory Committee feedback as appropriate. *Completing all required reports, including but not limited to, course-level or program-level outcomes assessment and academic program review, within the prescribed time frame. *Other duties as assigned by the Program Director, Academic Dean, or Provost. Other responsibilities of this position include: *Collaborate with the Director of Nursing Programs for development of assessment of student learning and departmental programs. *A commitment to developing and following institutional and departmental policies or procedures regarding classroom safety. *A commitment to student success and retention. *Candidates for this position must possess a thorough knowledge of the teaching field, a commitment to high academic standards, and excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills. *Participates in communication between all constituents/affiliates, both internal and external; *Active, unencumbered registered nursing license for the state of Arkansas; *Must be able to teach theory in either morning, evening, or weekend schedules; *Strong verbal, written, and electronic communication skills; *Microsoft Office proficiency; *Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently toward course objectives; and *Ability to work effectively as a team member.
