Job Summary

The Business Intelligence Analyst (BIA-Jr.) is responsible for delivering enterprise business intelligence and analytics solutions that enable our business partners to meet our organizational mission. This position works in collaboration with other Business Intelligence Analysts to collaborate with clinical and business stakeholders to define new data solutions to add to a product roadmap for a team of analysts, developers, administrators, and architects. The BIA-Jr., in support of the BIAs learns to develop, configure, maintain, and supports data and analytics solutions in a variety of applications, especially Microsoft, Tableau and Epic Cogito ergo Sum. The BIA-Jr. supports the advancement of data driven decision making by supporting other BIAs as they promote organizational capabilities in data management, data quality improvement, data visualization, and self-service analytics.

What you do?

  • The Business Intelligence Analyst Jr. works toward strategic and tactical transformation that will lead to data consumption through highly immersive data visualization applications. This position supports the advancement for the use of analytics by assisting in the building of organizational capabilities in data management, reporting, and ad hoc analytics.
  • Assesses, captures, and translates complex business issues and requirements into structured analytics use cases.
  • Maintains tight alignment between analytics and business issues and in collaboration with other Business Intelligence Analysts is able to derive insights.
  • Considers current state solutions and products as well as new development capabilities when assessing business needs.
  • Manages individual workload and work effectively on multiple assignments, activities, or projects in a fast pace changing environment.
  • Assists in intake for new development requests from business stakeholders, helping to evaluating if needs can be meet with existing tools or new products.
  • Strives to understand a BI and analytics asset catalogue to document and manage current capabilities of end users.
  • Assist other BIAs in leading stakeholders through design sessions for new metrics, dashboards, data sets, and/or analytical models regarding their line of business.
  • Collaborates with others to identify and resolve data quality issues.
  • Complete progress updates in ticketing and project management tools to assist in and ensure project completeness.
  • Assist other BIAs in leading End Users through validation to ensure high quality data solutions are delivered to customers.
  • Participate in planning and executing end user adoption activities, end user training sessions, and communities of practice for analysts and developers embedded in business units.
  • Complete upgrade tasks for major upgrades of analytics tools.
  • Help Identify and execute process improvement initiatives that will enable the team work more efficiently.
  • Manage individual workload and work effectively on multiple assignments, activities, or projects in a fast-paced changing environment.

What you bring?

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. A bachelor's or master's degree in health administration, public health, business, data science, statistics, engineering, physical sciences, mathematics, or a related STEM field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with any Business Intelligence or Analytics tools, such as BusinessObjects, PowerBI, Tableau, QlikView, Cognos, Microstrategy, R, Python, etc.
  • Relevant work or academic experience in healthcare, analytics, informatics, or related field preferred.
  • Basic SQL skills with relational and dimensional databases preferred.
