Paving Crew Skilled Labor

The Paving Crew Skilled Laborer is a critical part of our production team and will perform tasks involving physical labor in parking lots and beside active roadways by operating hand tools (pick, shovel, asphalt lute, backpack blower).

Use of tools to clean and prepare surface for asphalt paving
• Manual labor including shoveling, brooming and raking
• General labor duties associated with asphalt paving and patching
• Required ability to rake asphalt to establish smooth seems, around utilities, and drainage in asphalt surfaces
• Equipment and job cleanup as necessary
• Ability to operate small power tools
• Assist in the placement, moving and dismantling of traffic control devices
• Perform additional duties as assigned

• Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, wind, rain and dusty environments
• Constantly need to stand, walk, push, pull, bend, shovel, rake and dig for hours at a time
• Continuously able to lift fifty pounds or more on a repitive basis
• Be able to work nights and weekends, as well as overtime when necessary
• Team player with good communication and problem-solving skills
• Must be reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
• Ability to pass a drug test and adhere to safety standards
• Communication skills: ability to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, contractors and the general public in a courteous professional manner at all times
