TITLE:Electrical Maintenance Technician - First Shift

LOCATION:Onsite in Oswego, IL
SHIFT & HOURS:
Monday - Friday, 8am - 5:30pm

Hiring Hourly Rate: $33.73/hr. to $39.73hr.

Custom Culinary, a subsidiary of Griffith Foods, is hiring an Electrical Maintenance Technician responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, equipment, and controls in a manufacturing environment. This role ensures the safe and efficient operation of plant machinery and infrastructure by applying electrical expertise and adhering to company and regulatory safety standards.

As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, your responsibilities will include:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems, including motors, drives, PLCs, HMIs, and control panels.
  • Install, test, and service wiring, equipment, and fixtures in compliance with codes and safety standards.

  • Read and interpret schematics and technical diagrams to perform accurate diagnostics.

  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.

  • Document all maintenance activities in CMMS and support inventory/parts management.

  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.

  • Obtain Forklift Certification within 60 days of hire.

Qualified candidates will have:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • At least 3 years of electrical maintenance experience

  • Experience with PLCs, HMIs, MCCs, industrial power distribution and electrical safety practices

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals

  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools (multimeters, megohmmeters, clamp meters)

  • Must be willing and able to work onsite in Oswego

Candidates must currently be at least 18 years of age ANDpossessunrestricted authorization to work in the United States. Work visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

What will set you apart:

  • Journey Electrician License

  • 5 years of electrical maintenance experience

  • Technical or Vocational Training in Industrial Electricity

  • OSHA 10/30 Hour, NFPA 70E Certification, or Arc Flash Safety Training

  • Are safety-conscious and follow OSHA, NFPA 70E, and Lockout/Tagout procedures

  • Experience in food manufacturing or related industry

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand and walk to communicate and listen effectively. This will require both office and plant floor environments. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee will occasionally need to operate and drive a forklift or electronic pallet jack to transport materials or goods.

Environmental Concerns

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Dust and odor present in environment.
