The Opportunity:

UCF IT is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer IV to join our Endpoint Engineering team. The Systems Engineer IV is a senior-level role responsible for architecting, engineering, and securing enterprise systems that support infrastructure and information security. This position requires extensive experience with Microsoft Intune, moderate or better experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and Group Policy, and the ability to design and implement complex solutions. The Systems Engineer IV will collaborate with customers and peers to deliver innovative solutions, provide Tier 3 support, and ensure system reliability and security.

Responsibilities:


  • Build and maintain infrastructure to meet business needs and security standards.

  • Configure and manage Intune, MECM, and Group Policy for device management and compliance.

  • Manage and maintain file servers, print servers, and license servers.

  • Monitor system performance and implement optimizations to meet service-level targets.

  • Ensure secure configurations for systems and applications are implemented and maintained.

  • Partner with stakeholders to engineer solutions that align with organizational goals.

  • Provide Tier 3 support for complex technical issues.

  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

  • Lead the design and implementation of enterprise systems and applications.

  • Gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Evaluate new technologies and methodologies to recommend improvements.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations and procedures.

  • Contribute to policy development and quality assurance for deployments.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 9 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Intune for device compliance, configuration, and security.

  • Moderate to extensive experience with one or more of the following: Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), Jamf, and Citrix.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with experience providing Tier 3 support for complex technical issues.

  • Hands-on experience implementing security hardening standards (CIS benchmarks, NIST guidelines) and familiarity with endpoint security tools and vulnerability management platforms.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with stakeholders and mentor junior staff.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Citrix Certified Associate (CCA), or Jamf Certified Tech.


Special Instructions to the Applicants:

The anticipated salary range for this position is $89,076 - $111,345. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.

Position requires a valid Class E driver's license. The position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
