TITLE: Electrical Technician A
POSITION OBJECTIVE: To support supervisor and senior electrical technicians on all tasks and responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Vocational education desirable.
- Minimum 3 years previous maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of PLC and electronic instrument calibration desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and electronic schematics.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Consistently demonstrate safe work habits.
- Adhere to all company rules and policies.
- Has complete understanding of the plant and department safety rules.
- Demonstrates good housekeeping for insuring assigned areas are clean.
- Work efficiently with other employees in order to meet plant and department goals in safety, quality, production and housekeeping.
- Follow oral and written instructions for upper management.
- Work and cooperate with other departments within the plant.
- Attend scheduled department safety and training meetings.
- Identify and understand cables, conduit and wiring system and electrical fittings.
- Familiar with pipe benders, saws, hand tools, drills, pipe cut and thread operations.
- Ability to install electrical conduits and wiring for general purpose.
- Identify potential source of medium/low voltage and safety protection required: 13.8 KV and 480V.
- Ability to repair electric circuits and repair DC and AC motor including delta and wye configurations.
- Ability of repairing and troubleshooting printed circuit boards.
- Ability of operation switch gear and MCC.
- Properly select tools required for task being performed.
- Provide timely preventive maintenance support coordinating with production personnel.
- Maintain and complete all necessary forms, files and paperwork associated with PM and work order programs.
- Available for overtime, call-outs and rotating schedules.
- Willingness to learn and upgrade skill level.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Ability to trouble shoot electrical problems on equipment i.e.: Leistritz
- Extruder, PTI Pelletizer, Witte Classifier, Alar water treatment system and
- Accurate feeding system.
- Perform job tasks without supervision.
- Oversee the work of "B" and "C" electrical technicians.
- Ability to train other personnel effectively.
WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:
- Balancing, maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.
- Climbing, ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles. Using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized.
- Inside and outside environments apply.
- Manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures (cold and hot)
- Subject to noise.
