Job Description

The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) Aerospace, Transportation and Advanced System Lab is seeking a motivated and passionate full-time intern to join our team in Hill AFB, UT for the summer semester. In this role, you will support our training range research and development for the Department of Defense. This will include the learning of and contributions to a variety of systems and software engineering projects.

As an intern, you will work with our senior engineers to design, develop, test and document software applications. As well as interface with hardware, contribute to system builds and gain a full scope integration experience. The internship offers a unique opportunity to grow your technical skills, expand your professional network and make meaningful contributions to our products.

Must report in person to the Hill AFB, UTAH field office.


Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Understanding of software development principals and methodologies
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented design and programming languages
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas
  • Be able to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Oral and written communication skills, as well as presentation skills


Intern



  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems or related field
  • 3.0 or higher GPA
  • Full-Time Intern- Must be registered for Full-time Internship Credit


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in 1 or more programming languages
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines
  • Understanding of distributed systems and microservices
  • Experience with Jira or task tracking tools
  • Familiarity with Windows, Linux, Visual Studio, Gitlab
  • Strong math skills and ability to learn complex engineering concepts


Hours per Week

40 hours per week


U.S. Citizenship Requirements

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.


Clearance Type Required

Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
