Job Summary

Research Lab Technician to assist growing lab with projects in stem cell and embryology in Zernicka-Goetz's lab. Candidates should be skilled in all molecular biology & tissue culture techniques, well organized, and excellent communication skills. Candidate should be able to assist the day to day operation of the whole lab and participate in on-going project(s) with postdocs and graduate students.

Essential Job Duties
  • Assisting postdocs and PhD students with cell culture experiments, data & image analysis (using IMARIS & GraphPad), immuno-histo chemistry.
  • Ability to use different confocal microscopy systems available in the lab to capture images and long-term video images of cell and embryo cultures.
  • Perform other general lab duties with other lab technicians.
  • Capable of independently solving problems with cell cultures including assessing and diagnosing the nature of problems while referring more complex issues to higher levels.
  • Occasionally require an alternative work schedule, with the possibility of weekend work to meet project deadlines, media change or address unexpected issues.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in related field & proven track record of practical aspects of the position required.
  • Experience in stem cell and tissue culture.
  • Ability to foster good working relationships with members of the lab with diverse cultural background, possess excellent and efficient communication skills.
  • Work productively and efficiently under minimal supervision.
  • Eager to learn new techniques and methodologies.
  • Problem solver, strong attention to details and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in related field.
  • Experience in working with iPSC lines and mammalian embryos under BSL2 conditions.
  • Experience with immunohistochemistry and confocal microscopy.
  • Data analysis experience and demonstrable quantitative skills.

Hiring Range

$21.50 - $25.75 Per Hour

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
