Sr. Program Coordinator

Working independently and under the direction of the Director of the Drug Hypersensitivity and Desensitization Program (Dr. Mariana Castells), will be responsible for coordinating referrals and desensitizations at the Brigham and Women's Hospital/Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Desensitization Center. The Program Coordinator will also collect, organize, and analyze patient data in programs including RedCap and assist in compiling and writing outcomes data for publication. Leads and manages quality improvement projects for the desensitization program and assists with other special projects as directed.
Responsibilities also include managing all aspects of Dr. Castells' Drug Desensitization Program duties and responsibilities including scheduling meetings and coordinating conferences. This will require working closely with a diverse range of team members from across various institutions.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinates referrals for desensitization from oncology, cardiology, infectious disease and other specialties utilizing knowledge of HMO's, managed care and other third-party insurers, and troubleshooting insurance issues as appropriate. Follows HIPAA guidelines for management of patient privacy and confidentiality.
Coordinates DFCI and Hale desensitizations and with admissions and nurse manager for the referring specialty.
Data collection, management, and statistical analysis for desensitizations and outcomes with manuscript preparation.
Develops and manages new and existing desensitization clinical studies and trials.
Coordinates the Desensitization Director's calendar and schedule.
Manages and implements quality improvement projects for the Drug Hypersensitivity and Desensitization Center.
Leads planning and communication with BWH, Hale and DFCI to maintain appropriate resources for Drug Hypersensitivity and Desensitization Center.
Performs other administrative duties for the Desensitization Director and assists with special projects as directed.
Plans and leads weekly desensitization meetings.
Coordinates outside requests for desensitization between BWH allergy and DFCI.

Education
Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required

Program support or program management experience 1-2 years required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously.
- Basic financial/accounting skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
