Job Overview

The Manager of Accounting is the accounting team leader in support of the Komatsu Financial business. The Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting, and will act as a business partner for the operations team. This role manages the balance sheet, profit and loss activities, and internal and external audit processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong internal controls. The Manager plays a critical role in evaluating, summarizing and articulating the financial statement impact of complex commercial proposals, along with driving process improvements.
In addition, the Manager will support the broader Komatsu North America team through major transformational initiatives, including ERP implementation, master data management, and IFRS conversion projects, further strengthening Komatsu's financial and operational foundation.

Key Job Responsibilities

* Own the day-to-day accounting for Komatsu Financial, including journal entries and account reconciliations, adhering to accounting policies and procedures.
* Partner with operations to identify and drive process improvements, resolve business challenges, and provide financial information to key stakeholders to assist in making business decisions
* Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules for KLTD management reporting, with analysis of balance sheet and profit & loss activities
* Manage and review balance sheet accounts, including receivables and reserves, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and resolution of variances.
* Serve as a technical accounting resource for Komatsu Financial and support the Komatsu North America team with accounting research and application of U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
* Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including preparation and analysis
* Partner with operations and finance leadership to evaluate the financial impact of commercial proposals and provide clear, actionable insights.
* Support internal and external audits, ensuring timely responses, documentation, and resolution of audit findings.
* Support enterprise initiatives such as ERP implementation, IFRS adoption, AI-related initiatives, and other finance transformation projects.
* Collaborate with the corporate technical accounting team to ensure appropriate accounting treatment, reporting consistency, and ongoing management of CECL.
* Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and internal control requirements, maintaining high standards of financial integrity and governance.
* Develop, coach, and mentor accounting team members, promoting collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications/Requirements

* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. CPA preferred.
* 6+ years of accounting experience, with exposure to the financial services industry preferred.
* Experience performing accounting research and application of US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley. IFRS knowledge also preferred.
* Experience supporting audits, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting in a corporate environment.
* Prior experience with InfoLease and SAP a plus.
* Demonstrated people management skills with the ability to oversee, develop and coach accounting professionals.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with attention to detail and accuracy. Healthy professional skepticism and inquisitiveness. Continuous improvement mindset.
* Effective communication and project management skills
* Ability to balance hands-on execution with process improvement and longer-term initiatives.

Hiring Range

At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $128,800. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
