Position Summary
The Account Relationship Manager is responsible for managing and growing customer relationships within the St. Mary's, PA territory, with a strong emphasis on supporting manufacturers in the powdered metal and powder metallurgy industry. This role focuses on consultative selling, account retention, and solution-based growth by understanding customer processes, production challenges, and cost drivers. The ideal candidate is sales-minded, technically curious, and comfortable engaging with production, engineering, maintenance, and purchasing teams to deliver measurable value.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and grow multiple customer accounts within an assigned territory, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and retention
Build trusted relationships with customers in the powdered metal manufacturing space, including purchasing, maintenance, engineering, and operations stakeholders
Develop and execute account-specific sales growth plans for each customer and location
Clearly understand and consistently deliver Stellar's value proposition
Identify opportunities to reduce customer cost, improve productivity, and increase efficiency; document and report measurable cost savings to customers
Partner with Stellar Specialists and local supplier representatives to deliver technical solutions and value-added services
Develop and maintain a pipeline of new business opportunities through networking, referrals, research, and proactive outreach using Stellar's CRM (Proton AI)
Plan, organize, and execute effective territory development strategies
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products, industry trends, and customer manufacturing processes
Achieve mastery of Stellar systems, tools, and internal resources
Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset and commitment to professional development

Experience
5-7 years of sales experience, preferably within industrial distribution, manufacturing, or metalworking environments
Experience supporting manufacturing customers with MRO, cutting tools, abrasives, safety, or related industrial products strongly preferred
Strong mechanical or technical aptitude; familiarity with manufacturing processes such as machining, sintering, compaction, tooling, or secondary operations is a plus
