The Group You'll Be A Part Of

Reporting to the CEO, Lam Research's Corporate Strategy team is focused on providing broad, strategic vision for the company, identifying, and evaluating new growth initiatives, and supporting business units in the strategy planning process. Beyond strategy, the group also executes M&A, integration, and other strategic investment/partnership programs.

The Impact You'll Make

We are looking for a forward-thinker to join the Corporate Strategy organization working within the Lam Capital and Corporate Development teams to drive technology acceleration through external partnerships. You will identify and articulate business opportunities within Lam Research that can be addressed through collaboration with startup companies from the Lam Capital portfolio and beyond, seeking to create win-win partnerships that further Lam's product differentiation. You will engage stakeholders across the company to understand technical and non-technical business challenges and dynamics, and facilitate partnership from conceptualization through negotiation, execution, and post-project assessment. You will set vision, strategies, and tactics by aligning with the Corporate stakeholders, and develop a playbook to streamline future technology acceleration partnerships. As part of this role you will provide market and competitive intelligence on best practices that helps in strategic decision making and provide leadership in the development, diligence, and execution of strategic business opportunities and be effective at choosing the necessary team members to ensure success. Also, you will:

  • Build and manage relationships with internal with internal technology, engineering, and corporate stakeholders at all levels of the company. Collaborate with those stakeholders to identify strategic alignment and opportunities with potential investment candidates
  • Advise the Lam Capital and Corporate Development teams regarding internal needs that could be addressed through external engagements
  • Develop frameworks for external engagements including joint development programs, product development collaborations, and consulting arrangements with startup companies from within and beyond Lam Capital's portfolio
  • Facilitate contract alignment and negotiations, bridging between external and internal stakeholders
  • Monitor and facilitate external engagements to maximize likelihood of both successful completion of project objectives and follow on collaboration
  • Build and manage relationships with entrepreneurs, co-investors, and other partners in the venture ecosystem
  • Track and report on business outcomes to stakeholders regularly to demonstrate value creation through partnerships
What You'll Do

In This Role, You Will

  • Understand and stay current with the competitive landscape
  • Synthesize data looking for trends and insights, identify and close gaps in the collective knowledge base
  • Take ownership for significant portions of strategy development and generate creative, action-oriented insights and recommendations
  • Facilitate joint problem-solving with mid-level and senior-level business partners
  • Distill information, gain clarity of ideas, synthesize, and then define next steps for execution
  • Produce novel research work products, often challenging existing strategies in the company with new insights
  • Deliver timely and impactful recommendations, ensuring we are having the right strategic debates in the company
  • Author and deliver high-impact presentations and plans to senior management
Who We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience. Advanced Technical or Engineering degree preferred but not required
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in the semiconductor industry
  • Total relevant industry experience of at least 10 years
  • Experience in product management, technology development, project management, and/or business development is a plus
  • Experience at a startup is a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Demonstrated passion for innovation and entrepreneurship
  • Ability to work with little supervision
  • Self-Starter, Creative and flexible problem solver who can cope with ambiguity and uncertainty
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of Lam, our ecosystem and the trends that are/will shape our future
  • Creative, out-of-the-box thinker who is intellectually curious with a demonstrated interest in continued learning
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous high-priority projects (often including project management of cross-functional teams)

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.

Salary

CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $137,000.00 -$287,000.00.

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
