The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Position Summary Through the use of advanced induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) techniques our lab attempts to elucidate the effects of genetic variants associated with psychiatric disorders on the development and physiology of neural cells. The iPSC lines we use are derived from patients or isogenic lines in which we induced disease-associated variants using CRISPR-Cas9. The iPSC-based models we have in the lab range from 2D cultures containing only a single cell type to 3D cortical brain organoids. Genomic and Transcriptome data have been generated from these organoid models as well as postmortem brain samples and basic characterization has been established. This position will focus on the further development of various, machine learning and deep learning models to study molecular mechanisms and cellular phenotypes caused by the etiology of high risk genetic factors of schizophrenia.
