Human Resources (HR) roles are dedicated to managing the people-related functions within organizations. HR professionals are tasked with recruiting and retaining talent, fostering employee engagement, facilitating professional development, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations. They serve as strategic partners to leadership teams, supporting organizational objectives and promoting a positive work culture.

Discipline Description

Talent Acquisition personnel source, recruit, screen, interview, and recommend external and internal candidates for all level jobs, including interns, apprentices, entry level, experienced professional/technical, IT, support staff and hourly, and management. They recruit from colleges, technical schools, and job fairs, utilize the services of employment agencies, place employment ads, and other sources.

Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include:

This role provides comprehensive support, direction, and leadership in implementing full cycle recruiting activities for assigned organizations, integrating other human resources functional areas such as compensation, talent development, policy, and benefits. You will serve as a strategic talent acquisition resource for Senior Vice Presidents, hiring managers, and other company leaders, supporting business objectives by effectively sourcing and recruiting both passive and active candidates.

Key responsibilities include:

Assessing Staffing Needs: Continuously evaluate and anticipate staffing needs to ensure the organization remains adequately staffed. This includes proactive planning for positions that are hard-to-fill or require specialized skills.

Analyzing HR Metrics: Regularly analyze key HR-related metrics to identify trends, provide actionable insights, and support decision-making. Use data to inform strategies and improve recruitment processes.

Design and Implement Recruiting Strategies: Develop and implement recruitment strategies based on organizational hiring needs. This may involve leading or participating in special projects aimed at enhancing recruiting efficiencies.

Talent Pipeline Development: Maintain a robust talent pipeline by interacting with faculty members at academic institutions and students in relevant academic programs. Stay engaged with various hiring teams at Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA) facilities to share best practices.

Presentations and Stakeholder Engagement: Make presentations to internal and external community and academic stakeholders, promoting the organization and its opportunities.

Recruitment Events: Attend local, regional, and national recruiting events to identify and attract top talent.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in relevant field plus at least five years of experience (YOE) in a relevant role, OR Master's degree in relevant field plus at least two years of experience (YOE), OR Doctoral degree in relevant field
* Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered

* Focused recruiting experience at DOE/NNSA nuclear complexes, or in Manufacturing.

* Master's degree in business or other relevant field.

* Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS).

* Effective use of sourcing tools like LinkedIn Recruiter and other online job platforms.

* Solid understanding of employment laws and best practices in recruiting.

* Strong skills in MS Office products, to include MS Lists and Forms.

* Current HR certification.

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance. This list of factors is not exhaustive; pre-employment information and security clearance requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
