POSITION SPECIFICS

Penn State Dickinson Law invites applications from both entry-level and lateral candidates for multiple tenure-track or tenured faculty positions (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Law), with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026, at our Carlisle and University Park, Pennsylvania locations.

We are seeking candidates with an interest in teaching and contributing to our curriculum in legal writing and research instruction.Connected support with our academic success and bar exam preparation area is also expected. Over time, additional teaching interests that align with the evolving needs of the law school may be explored, but hired faculty are expected to primarily teach legal writing courses.

Candidates may bring a wide range of qualifications, including relevant teaching or practice experience, judicial clerkships at any level, interdisciplinary scholarly work, or post-J.D. studies, degrees, or certificates.

Penn State Dickinson Law is especially interested in candidates who are committed to and accountable for advancing equity, respect and belonging within the law school and broader legal profession.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Produce high-quality scholarly research in the field of law,
  • Teach law courses and demonstrate excellence in the classroom,
  • Supervise and mentor student research assistants,
  • Provide service to the law school, university, and broader professional community.

Positions may be based in either University Park, PA or Carlisle, PA. The University prioritizes regular on-site presence to support full engagement in the campus community. Full-time, tenured or tenure-track faculty are expected to work on-site. Questions about work arrangements should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR).
