Overview The Peer Support Specialist I (PSS I) is responsible for providing support services and serving as a client advocate, for patients with a mental illness. The PSS I has the opportunity to positively impact clients through support and education. The PSS I performs a wide range of tasks to assist clients in their own journey through the behavioral health system, role model good communication skills and share their own experiences in a positive manner. The PSS I will serve as a member of the Eyerly Ball team and provide support and consultation to encourage and model positive behaviors with clients in the CCBHC catchment area. Provide a variety of services, ranging from the teaching of skills to delivery of services to providing individual and group support focused on outreach and engagement. The PSS I will develop effective working relations and cooperate with all Eyerly Ball departments throughout the entire coordination process. Experience: Candidate who identifies as being in recovery from mental health and is willing to share details of their personal recovery experience. Experience navigating behavioral health and substance use systems. License(s)/Certification(s): Have completed or will complete a state sanctioned Peer Support Specialist training and passed competency exam based on training.
