The Position
2026 Summer Intern - Biology Research | AI Development Department Summary Biology Research | AI Development (BRAID) is a department within Genentech's Research and Early Development (gRED) group. Our mission is to advance biological discovery by developing and applying AI/ML methods across diverse data modalities to support drug and target discovery efforts, with the ultimate goal of improving human health. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated research intern to join the Perturbation Biology group within BRAID. Our group is dedicated to developing the next generation of AI/ML models to derive actionable insights from large-scale, high-content perturbation experiments. The internship will focus on designing strategies to integrate single-cell perturbation data, biological foundation models, and large language models to generate causal insights for drug and/or target discovery. This internship position is located in South San Francisco, on-site. The Opportunity:

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting. The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $50.00 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
