OutKick is looking for an Associate Social Media Producer/Editor to join our team. You will be a critical member of the Social Media team responsible for our content and strategies on YouTube, Facebook, X, Instagram, Tik Tok etc...

The ideal candidate for this position has extensive knowledge of all relevant social media platforms and understands how each are unique and require different content strategies for success. You know and embrace sports, pop culture, entertainment and the overall zeitgeist in America. The candidate must have an exceptional eye for what will work on the different algorithms while thriving in a fast deadline-driven timeline. You will be responsible for editing and curating OutKick's social media feed with content from original OutKick shows as well as news surrounding sports and culture. You are very skilled at physically editing the content in a way that it works for the specific social media platforms you are targeting. You will also work closely with OutKick's editorial staff and show teams to create original social media content and help "create creators" from our team of writer, reporters and producers. You understand OutKick is a sport-based digital platform operating 7 days a week, 365 days a year with some weekend and evening work required.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Edit/produce video pieces using Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop

  • Have basic knowledge of After Effects, enough to work with predesigned templates

  • Have an eye for vertical content and how to work media so it works for mobile

  • Gather elements, such as photos, videos, and music

  • Pitch, develop and execute new video ideas in a daily and breaking news environment

  • Work with contributing talent to develop social segment ideas and bite-sized content

  • Cover a range of video content including breaking news and features

  • Collaborate with other social media producers to develop a social strategy, write and produce videos

  • Coordinate and pitch new articles to enhance original video posts and build an audience

  • Plan ahead to edit/produce social media content for specific initiatives and events

  • Participate in broader strategic discussions regarding content and audience engagement

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • At least 3 years of experience in social media content creation

  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere and Photoshop, starter knowledge of After Effects

  • Good editorial judgment and extensive knowledge of sports, news and current events, entertainment, politics, and viral content

  • Strong writing skills and the ability to self-proof

  • Organization skills that allow for multiple projects to be produced simultaneously

  • Positive and creative attitude with the ability to hit deadlines while working under pressure

  • Ability to work independently, paired with a self-starter attitude

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends according to the needs of a 7-day a week sports-based digital operation

**This role can be hybrid.**

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $67,000.00-78,000.00 annually for high cost labour markets such as but not limited to New York City and Los Angeles, $55,800.00-65,000.00 annually for all other US locations. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
