Job Description




As a Security Officer - Chemical Access Gate in El Dorado, KS, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a chemical or petrochemical location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while maintaining a visible presence. Your role will involve managing access points, verifying credentials, and delivering exceptional customer service. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver's license. What You'll Do:

  • Perform access control duties by monitoring entry and exit points to help to deter unauthorized access at the location.
  • Follow site-specific policies and procedures related to chemical and petrochemical environments.
  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by answering questions and giving directions as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues according to established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter suspicious activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of activities, observations, and incidents as required by site protocols.
  • Assist with emergency response activities, including evacuations or shelter-in-place procedures, when appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with Allied Universal team members and site personnel to support security-related operations at the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
