As an employer brand intern, you will sit within the employee communications team. In addition to supporting employee communications initiatives, you will also develop and drive the strategy to bring our employee value proposition (EVP) to life, with an emphasis on recruiting and retaining the best and brightest talent.

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Craft and help inform brand messaging that connects current and prospective Motorolans to our company's mission, purpose and values.
  • Support creative campaigns that highlight our innovative culture and people, for both internal and external use. These may include both print and digital marketing materials as well as written stories, video and social media campaigns.
  • Work collaboratively with our talent acquisition team to develop a world-class recruitment strategy. This may include university outreach, support for career fairs, development of marketing materials and examining back-end processes to ensure an optimal candidate experience.
  • Partner with Human Resources to amplify the company's rewards, benefits, learning and career growth opportunities.
  • Identify improvements throughout the lifecycle of a Motorolan, from the application and hiring process to onboarding, 90 days, the first year and beyond.
  • Conduct research on communications and employer branding matters, trends and best practices; monitor business and competitor news to identify emerging issues and storytelling opportunities.
  • Collaborate with interns from other departments on individual and group projects.
  • Serve as an internal reporter, seeking out compelling stories and projects from across the company and bringing them to life across a variety of internal, external and digital channels.
  • Support employee communications projects, working with team members and other departments to deliver high-quality work on time. This may include measurement, reporting, events and limited administrative duties.
  • Leverage data, analytics and employee feedback to inform the strategy for bringing our EVP to life and engage key stakeholders with regular updates on progress and milestones achieved.

Specific Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent storytelling abilities, written communication skills and presentation skills
  • Able to work independently as well as collaborate effectively with colleagues, both in-person and virtually
  • Experience leading deeply collaborative, strategic partnerships with various stakeholders and influencing at all levels of the organization
  • A self-starter with a creative bend; the ability to think outside the box
  • Commitment to excellence, quality and attention to detail
  • Graphics/design/creative experience a plus

NOTE: Candidate must be in the Chicago office 3 days per week.

Basic Requirements
  • High School Diploma is required
  • Must be pursuing a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree with a graduation date of December 2026 or later
