Position Highlights The Department of Psychology at the University of Arizona seeks to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor to join our Cognitive and Neural Systems (CNS) area. The University of Arizona is an R1 institution, and the Psychology Department ranks among the top programs in the country.

The CNS program takes an interdisciplinary approach to the study of mind and brain and includes faculty with strong interests across a variety of sub-disciplines. The successful candidate will have access to three state-of-the-art Siemens research-dedicated MRI scanners and a comprehensive suite of advanced brain recording and modulation techniques.

We seek applicants whose research focuses on human cognition and neural systems, with interests that may include decision-making, attention, memory, language, aging, and/or computational modeling. Candidates are expected to develop and maintain a coherent and productive research program that can include a single or combination of the subareas stated above.

  • Publishing peer-reviewed scholarly works.
  • Maintaining an active research program.
  • Obtaining extramural funding.
  • Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses during the academic year.
  • Advising undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Serving on departmental committees.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in psychology, neuroscience, cognitive science or a related discipline by the start of the appointment.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Active research agenda with national and international visibility.
  • Teaching experience at the university level.
