Job Description

Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with aerospace quality standards and customer requirements. This position will interface with operation managers to resolve major quality issues, support internal manufacturing operations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The engineer will be a key contributor to maintaining and advancing AS9100 and NADCAP certifications, with a strong focus on chemical processing, heat treat, and metallic materials (MTL) disciplines.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Promote advanced quality management systems processes across manufacturing operations.
  • Drive internal quality improvements using structured problem-solving tools (of A3 Projects, FMEA, 5WHY, Lean).
  • Assess and improve process effectiveness and efficiency to reduce variability and defects.
  • Provide defect analysis data collection to support root cause investigations.
  • Identify root cause for nonconformance and ensure effective corrective actions are implemented
  • Conduct process audits to ensure NADCAP compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support capital improvements, documentation, and process standardization.
  • Support customer audits and regulatory reviews.
  • Support organization growth of AS9100 and NADCAP processes.

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of NADCAP special processes (chemical processing, heat treat, metallic materials testing).
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate with operations, engineering, and customers.
  • Strong analytical, decision making, problem solving skills
  • Possess understanding of Risk Analysis process, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis process, Fault Tree Analysis, and Requirements and Hazard Traceability processes, Continuous improvement techniques
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma Methodology

Required Experience:

  • 4+ years manufacturing experience in a quality engineering field with Aerospace customer experience
  • Direct experience with ISO 9001, AS9100, and NADCAP requirements.
  • Hands-on experience in chemical processing, heat treat operations, and metallic materials testing (MTL).

Level of Education:

  • Bachelor's in Mechanical, Material Science, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering preferred

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $106000 to $127000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
