IDD gathers more than 3,000 employees from 70 nationalities at 60 sites.

  • Pay: $120,000.00- $130,000.00

The "Biogas OTF" business unit builds, owns and operates plants that convert biogas, from landfills or digestion processes, into pipeline-ready renewablenatural gas. The candidate will be the lead HSE officer for the business unit, actively managing, hands-on, HSE matters for its current fleet of 7 plants, including 1 plant under construction, and additional plants to be added in the future.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Respond to HSE concerns and HSE alerts in a timely manner.

  • Lead accident and incident investigations to establish root causes in myRCA and corrective actions in Intelex (or similar).

  • In partnership with Operations, ensure appropriate corrective action is taken when safety hazards are identified.

  • Perform day to day safety risk assessment & mitigation through Safety Audits, Safe Work Permits (SWP), Pre-Job Planning (PJP), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR).

  • Manage emergency response plans for the facility, including drills to assess effectiveness.

  • Conduct monthly safety meetings.

  • Conduct safety training and onboarding for new hires.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA General Industry standards and Air Liquide safety policies as outlined in IMS.

  • Ensure compliance with environmental permits including federal and state regulatory requirements.

  • Prepare environmental permit applications. Prepare and submit environmental reports to regulatory agencies.

  • Support HSE programs for manufacturing and construction sites. Travel to construction sites on a regular basis.

  • Provide the management team with HSE metrics and KPIs.

  • Maintain HSE procedures in Intelex by reviewing and updating during their review cycle.

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial safety/hygiene, occupational health, environmental science, or related field of study

  • 5+ years experience with increasing responsibilities for HSE management

  • 3+ years experience performing HSE audits

  • 3+ years experience managing HSE programs

  • Experience writing technical policies, procedures, and reports

  • Good knowledge of OSHA General Industry standards, EPA regulations, and State environmental rules

  • Experience with PSM/RMP

  • Demonstrates strong process and operational safety behavior at all times

  • Experience driving and managing change

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Good computer skills including virtual meetings, data sheets, documents, and presentations

  • Strong analytical and presentation skills

  • Ability to travel overnight to domestic locations

Preferred

  • Experience with Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) field operations

  • Certification in ASP, CSP, CIH or CHMM

  • Previous work experience supporting multiple sites

Working Conditions

  • Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

  • Prolonged periods of walking the floor or sitting at a desk

  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders

  • Overnight travel up to 50%
