Case Load: 98% Adult, some young adult with ortho-trauma.

Position Overview:

Join our exceptional team of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and attending physicians at Henry Ford St. John Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) for a contingent, inpatient-only orthopedic surgery position. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with exposure to a wide range of orthopedic cases. You will be responsible for inpatient rounding, postoperative care, alongside a great team of APPs and attending physicians. The position consists of 10-hour shifts, providing ample opportunity for both professional growth and hands-on experience in a leading trauma center.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of orthopedic experience. Strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care are essential. Please note that new graduates will not be considered for this position. GENERAL SUMMARY: The Specialty/Invasive NP/PA will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. The Specialty/Invasive NP/PA will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination as a first line provider to patients and their families. Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care. Works in collaboration with attending physicians, advanced practice providers, consultants, house officers, nurses, and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently. Specific procedures as per credentialing as indicated by training and experience. Works in one of the following departments: Cardiovascular Medicine, Emergency Medicine, ICU, Interventional Radiology, Nephrology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Surgery, Urgent Care, Urology. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Master's degree in nursing OR Bachelor's Degree or Completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Current certification as a Certified Nurse Practitioner. Current State license as a Registered Nurse. Current BLS. Current ACLS/ATLS/PALS provider status as required by department. OR Requires Michigan state licensure and continued certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Current ACLS/BLS as required. Current ATLS/PALS provider status as required.
