CAE Engineer

STRATTEC Security Corporation is seeking a CAE Engineer for its Auburn Hills, MI, location. Will be responsible for using advanced computer-aided engineering analysis tools to assist the Product and Test Engineers in developing robust product solutions for multiple STRATTEC and STRATTEC Power Access products. In particular, will perform design analysis using computer-aided engineering (CAE) software such as ADAMS, PATRAN, NASTRAN, MARC, MATLAB, MathCAD, Moldflow, graphical interface programs, macros/embedded programming, etc. as applicable. Develop and implement procedures, programs, or methods to reduce waste, increase productivity, and improve results within CAE Engineering and also in other areas of the VAST/STRATTEC enterprise, as applicable. Provide clear and detailed results of the analysis, including written reports, summary sheets, and charts, as requested by Product Engineering, Management, and the customer. Present these results verbally in person and via conference, as required. Provide recommendations based on the analysis, including potential solutions to issues. Develop and maintain a positive relationship with internal and external customers, as applicable, and communicate with them frequently in order to generate the most pertinent and useful analyses and solutions. Maintain records of all activities and results in CAE project database or other applicable repository. Participate in design reviews and provide insight and recommendations. Ensure the maximum benefit of each analysis is achieved by looking across the organization and sharing the lessons learned to other programs and applications. Manage multiple and concurrent projects through an updated tracking sheet / method and meet promised commitments for project completion. And support Continuous Improvement by keeping abreast of latest technologies as it relates to CAE systems / virtual engineering and potential implementation of new concepts as deemed appropriate. This position requires little travel (2x/year for week or less per trip) to other STRATTEC locations in U.S. and Mexico for project collaborations. WFH benefits available (up to 2 day/wk). Monday through Friday; 40 hours per week; 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; $123,157 per year.



Qualifications

Required: Master's degree in Automotive, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, plus 5 years of CAE engineering experience in the Tier 1 automotive part and component supplier industry working with automotive access or closures components or systems. Experience must have included performance of finite element analysis, finite element simulations using LS-DYNA, multibody dynamic simulations using MSC ADAMS, tolerance analysis, and inertial calculations.
