Extraction Operator

A Day in the Life:

This position will be responsible for working in the facility as a Soy Protein Concentrate (SPC)/Extraction team member who will be responsible for all aspects of the extraction process, lab duties, and control room. This position requires participation in all sanitation, housekeeping, environmental safety, and emergency guidelines. This position will consist of both hexane and alcohol extraction processes and the associated solvent recovery.

Position Details:

Rotating 12-hour shift 10p-10a (nights)

Hourly pay rate - $29.92

What You'll Be Doing:

• Actively participate in all aspects of safety including near miss reporting and meetings
• Follow all process safety procedures and controls
• Operate all aspects of extraction/SPC process
• Know and follow all safety, environmental, and emergency procedures.
• Keep all work areas, buildings, and grounds clean at all times
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Good reading and writing skills
• Ability to take instruction and follow directions
• Strong focus on work instructions to ensure process safety
• Must be comfortable working in high places
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Must have initiative and demonstrate strong customer service skills
• Must be self-motivated with the ability to work unsupervised
• Positive attitude

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school graduate or GED equivalent
• Experience in food processing or FDA regulated environments
• Strong mechanical skills
• Proficiency in basic computer skills
